Maxima’s diamond blades for cutting are suitable for one or more type of machine, according to the model of the selected blade and to the characteristics of the machine.
- The power and type of motor (CV o kW, gasoline engine or electric motor): for example, the gasoline engine has a higher power than the electric motor;
- The nominal diameter supported;
- The size of the shaft of the machine.
Here below are some examples that explain how to asses compatibility between diamond blades and construction machinery.
1 – According to the power/type of machine
It is possible that different diamond blades, with the same nominal diameter and central hole, are suitable with different types of cutting machines.
For example, 3 diamond blades with a diameter of 350 mm and a 25.4 mm hole, give different alternatives in mounting:
- On electric table-saw (masonry-saw) machine with 1.5 cv;
- On gas-powered cut-off machine with 4.5cv;
- On gas-powered floor saws, usually with almost 9cv of power.
To avoid mistakes in choosing the diamond blade, we have to pay attention to icons and symbols on their packagings and on catalogues.
2 – According to the shaft of the machine
The size of the diameter of the cutting machine’s shaft allows the immediate identification of the right diamond blade.
However, a wide range of adaptors and metallic collars are available on our catalogue to give the user the possibility to use different diamond blades with machine, even blades with a different hole from the shaft one.
For example, it is possible to mount a 30 mm hole diamond blade on a machine with a 25.4 mm shaft by adding a metallic collar 30-25.4 mm.
As an alternative, we offer a complete service for the enlargement of the central hole of the blade.
3 – According to the power and the rpm (revolutions per minute) of the machine.
It is necessary to have compatibility not only between the blade and the material to be cut, but also between the blade and the power of the machine. On our catalogue this type of compatibility can be easily checked.
Every product has some icons and symbols which represent the different type of machine: gas-powered cut-off machines, channel-cutter, cutting machines, floor saws.
For example:
- The Blu Cement diamond blade diam. 350 and hole 25.4 can be mounted on gas-powered cut-off machines and floor saws.
- The Grey Asphalt diamond blade diam. 350 and hole 25.4 can be mounted only on gas-powered floor saws.
- The Laser Yellow diamond blade diam. 350 mm and hole 25.4 can be mounted only on table-saws or masonry-saws.
In this way, common problems like short life of the diamond and lack of effectiveness of the cutting can be avoided (for example, excessive slowness or loss of cutting capacity of the blade): users usually think that these problems are related to the quality of the blade, but in reality, they only have chosen the wrong product.
4 – According to the name of the Maxima construction machinery
For example, a Laser Scan Red blade, which is a Maxima general purpose laser blade, has a 22.2 mm hole in the 180mm diameter version.
The same for all dry diamond blades for grinders, from diam. 115 mm to diam. 230 mm included, if they’re mounted on angle grinders.
The 22.2 mm hole allows compatibility with the Maxima grinder ScanMax 180 EVO, which can be used with diamond blades up to 180 mm (as the name suggests)and with a 22.2 mm hole.
