Before using a new diamond core bit, a simple but fundamental operation must be performed. Just like when a telephone SIM is activated, the tool just put on the core drill must be “activated” with a specific procedure, in order to avoid damaging it when used.
Maxima provides a special stone suitable for the purpose which, thanks to the abrasiveness of the material with which it is made, allows you to prepare the tool for the first use, as well as to make it sharp and cutting again after several processes.
The technique of use is very simple: just turn the core bit on the special stone for a couple of seconds, as if you wanted to drill it.
But when is it necessary to revive a core, once it has been activated? It depends on the frequency of use and the type of materials on which the work is carried out.
It is not necessary to repeat the operation at the end of each hole: it is enough to drill a revitalizing hole every 2 or 3 holes on non-abrasive materials.
It is not strictly necessary if you perform the dry core drilling of a brick or asphalt surface: the abrasiveness of them is often enough to obtain the reviving effect.
On the contrary, after working on ceramic or concrete, non-abrasive materials, reviving the tool is strongly recommended.
With this little trick, the diamond tool will be able to give the best performance, efficiency and durability.
