The kick-off meeting, with the representatives of the Archea Associati architecture studio of Florence, took place last Thursday 22nd July 2021, following the assignment conferred by Maxima for the development of the expansion project of the company headquarters in Poviglio (Reggio Emilia).
The plan provides the demolition of two obsolete buildings, which currently occupy a total area of 1,300 square meters. Here, following the urban and environmental redevelopment program of the Municipality of Poviglio, a new structure will be built. It will extend over an equivalent surface, being able to have a different planimetric positioning and reach a maximum height of 7 meters.
Archea Associati, which has already carried out the surveys on site, will develop the project in the coming weeks and will present it to Maxima executives by the beginning of next autumn for final approval.
“Following a beauty contest carried out with four Italian studios of international importance, Archea Associati’s proposal was in full harmony with our idea of equipping ourselves with a functional, accessible, aesthetically impacting, and at the same time sustainable, structure.
Part of the new spaces will be used as warehouses, to optimize logistic flows and increase stocks, the remaining part for offices. In making us even more competitive, all of this will put us in a position to hire new staff. We believe we have chosen the right interlocutors to undertake this path, in which we are fully supported by the architect Gianluca Aldrovandi, Maxima’s historic consultant “, says Dr. Mirco Dall’Olio, President of Maxima.
The works will start in spring 2022 and the closure is expected by the end of 2023.
The Archea Associati studio was born in Florence in 1988 from the initiative of architects Laura Andreini, Marco Casamonti and Giovanni Polazzi, current partners together with the architect Silvia Fabi. Thanks to the collaboration with partner companies in Beijing, Dubai and Sao Paulo, the studio has created works of Architecture, Design, Interior Design and Graphic Design all over the world, collaborating with more than 100 professionals.
Among the most important projects managed by the studio are the new Cantina Antinori in Chianti Classico in San Casciano Val di Pesa (Florence), the Yanqing Grape Expo and the Li Ling World Ceramic Art City (China), the recovery and transformation of the Ex Magazzino Vini of Trieste of Eataly, and many others.
