To perform very recurring processes, such as scarifying and polishing, it is necessary to choose suitable techniques and machinery, which consider various aspects: first of all, the type of material to be treated and the width of the surface. Here are the most common cases and Maxima solutions.
Optimal scarification
With scarification, excess or degraded layers of a surface or flooring are removed, in order to prepare it for subsequent processes such as sanding and subsequent application of coatings or resins, as well as to lower it to the desired level.
A very versatile and effective solution for medium-small sizes is the Scarimax 200, designed for the rapid and uniform milling of medium-small surfaces in asphalt, concrete, stone, floor tiles, screeds and paints.
Its roller, 200 mm wide, can be supplied with bush hammers or cutters. With the bush hammer system, rough and grooved surfaces are obtained, for example to treat floors that tend to become smooth over time, causing slips and other discomfort. With the milling system, rough surfaces are obtained, but without the aforementioned grooves, with the aim, for example, of preparing the surface for laying porcelain stoneware. The ergonomic side lever of Scarimax 200 facilitates handling, allowing you to maintain the settings set.
Hand and floor grinder
Polish is used to treating marble and granite, and also to make mirror concrete, apply glue, prepare the flooring for laying the resin or painting with anti-slip paints in the industrial field, HACCP for places where the food processing takes place and more.
By choosing the most appropriate machines for the specific need, it is possible to sand in a non-aggressive way, opting for specific diamond modules with coarse, medium or fine grain.
Among the manual grinder, Levimax 125 stands out for the mechanical clutch combined with an electronic power stabilizer board, suitable for works in confined spaces or to complete the work begun with the largest grinders, such as the corners of the surfaces to be treated. It supports 125mm diameter pads with 22.2mm hole. It is possible to set the grinder depth through the appropriate adjustment placed on the protective casing.
Among the machines with floor application, Levimax 280 has an excellent ratio between performance and processing time per square meter, thanks to the speed of 1,400 rpm, and it is suitable for small areas. It weighs only 53 kg, it has 1 plate of 280 mm diameter and supports 6 modules with quick interlocking coupling. The casing is equipped with accessories to make the flush with the wall, both left and right.
For medium-large surfaces, the ideal machine is Levimax 550, with a power of 3,000 W, which reaches 1,720 rpm with 3 tool holder satellites and allows the clamping of the bearing planetary plate depending on the machining to be carried out. You can independently adjust the speed and orbital movement (right-left). It is equipped with a double adjustable and resealable arm.
Grinding pads and modules
Maxima offers a wide selection of grinding pads, in diameters from 100 to 180 mm (diamond, laser welded, sintered and vacuum segments) for manual machines and diamond modules for floor machines (available in grits for rough, semi-fine and fine) to be able to rough, smooth and polish any type of surface and remove any substance that causes adhesion on tools, such as glues, resins, mastics, adhesive tars and elastic materials.
